Natural EthicsThis is a featured page

In working on a proposal for a company to encourage mass adoption of their online product, I reflected on what community means, and how to make a community beneficial for all involved. What are the guidelines, the relationships, the trust that holds any community together? What attracts people to the community, and what makes them stay?

The first thing I defined is something that I came to call "Natural Ethics." It seems to me that given an environment where all are respected and where all benefit, these are the kind of ethics that would naturally evolve:

"Natural Ethics" principles for Community building

- inclusion instead of exclusion
- partnership / cooperation
- enough for all
- responsible action
- tolerance for others
- credit for ideas / work within the community
- economic benefit for ideas / work
- democratic voice

I am writing a series of articles on community building and on how "natural ethics" could work for the socio-economic benefit of all involved. Go to:
